Katachas bakery was founded in 1954 by Petros D. Athanasiadis in a small village called Katachas in the Pieria region. It was a wood fired brick oven really traditional. Produced mainly bread and baked food of the villagers as at the time not many people had domestic ovens.
Under this form it operated about around 1995. On Sep 1995 the second generation took over, Leandros Athanasiadis with his wife Tatiana and his elder son, grandson of the founder sharing the same name. Production evolved with new bread varieties and a few pastries. Also at that time the production of the famous country village pies begun. The reputation of which has reached several countries by satisfied customers. In the meantime the bakery was renovated and the oven was replaced with a diesel burning cyclothermic oven (German type)

On 2010 the bakery passed to the third generation Petros L. Athanasiadis and his wife Thalia. The oven was replaced again and now main fuel is the enviromental friendly wood pellet.
The production expanded greatly on bread varieties, pastries and breakfast varieties also. Right now the production ability exceeds 130 types of bread, 350 types of pastries and over 180 breakfast varieties. With studies on bakery and pastry and continuous education and also with the aid of great teachers every day we produce new , innovative and tasty products at the same time.
